Announcing our Blog Giveaway!

We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting an Etsy Baby Shower BLOG GIVEAWAY!  Sponsoring this giveaway is Jessica from BuggaLove! Currently one of the shower hosts, Jessica has participated in the Etsy Baby Shower for over 3 years. She's had the opportunity to be a donating shop, a receiving mom, and has had the privilege of co-hosting the past couple of baby shower with Deniz from DecorativeLabels.

Jessica is the owner and designer behind BuggaLove. Formerly a higher education administrator, Jessica decided to become a stay-at-home-mom in December 2006.  Seeking a creative outlet, she established an online selling presence in March 2007.  Jessica creates each product in her home studio in Red Hill, PA.

Where does BuggaLove come from?
"In our home 'Bugga' means baby.  And we sure do love Buggas in our house! Our first BuggaLove, born September 2006, inspired my designs for my line of BuggApparel. Our second BuggaLove, born in August 2008, inspired my line of mobiles and wood wall letters.  I'm happy to announce that our third Bugga is due in November 2010! And I can't wait to see what's inspired by this little one!"

What will I win?
Jessica is donating a set of her popular wood wall letters to the winner of this giveaway!  This would make a wonderful gift for an expecting mom or great for your own child!  You may choose one word or name in your choice of fonts and design scheme. Meet Jess from The Joys of Jess

Hi! I'm Jess from The Joys of Jess. I'm very excited to be both receiving and donating this time around in the etsy baby shower. In my etsy shop, I sell hand embroidered art for the home and donated a nursery decoration to the baby shower. I love embroidery and enjoy creating new things. My best selling item right now is my teacher's name, because it really does make a good teacher gift (trust me, I'm a teacher!). I offer free shipping on my embroidery all year long.

Meet Tonya from Tonya's Temptations

I am Tonya, of Tonya's Temptations, married mother to three wild and crazy children. I started my shop because I love to create and sewing has become a wonderful creative outlet for me. I chose the name "Tonya's Temptations" because, after having two terrific boys, I had a girl. The fun, fantastic and wonderful clothing and dreamily cute items tempted me everywhere I went! I'd like to believe that the items I create have that same effect for my customers.

This is my first Etsy Baby Shower and I chose my Wooden Ring Ribbon Teethers to share with the moms. They are a wonderful option for a teething baby. The wood ring is smooth and hard for baby's mouth. The ribbons are super for exploring mouths and the fabric brings eye catching color and softness. For the month of June, I'm offering a special on Wooden Ring Ribbon Teethers. $6 per teether (refunded after purchase) just mention you found me on Etsy Baby Shower Blog!
I can be found at:

Meet Sue from Polar Bear Creations

My name is Sue, I’m a stay at home mom of 3 great boys, happily married and currently living for 4 years in beautiful Florida before heading back to Canada.
I’m originally from Germany, where I was introduced to the Steiner/Waldorf Philosophy when my little sister attended a Waldorf school. That’s when I fell in love with Waldorf toys. The dolls with their simple, lovely faces give children lots of room for imaginative play. Creative playing helps children to develop nurturing and a sense of their own “self”. Isn’t that something we need more of in our world today??

I have always been creative, but since I had kids it has become more then just a little hobby on the side. I have many ideas for projects that I hope to realize in the near future.
My main focus these days is to create Waldorf inspired dolls and toys that are made with love and care, from natural materials, which are safe for children of all ages.
PolarBearCreations brings you Waldorf inspired dolls in a variety of sizes for different age groups and stuffed animals.
I use natural material in my creations, such as 100% cotton jersey knit, cotton terrycloth, cotton velour and cotton fabrics, mohair, sheep, bamboo and cotton wool and clean carded sheep wool for stuffing.
My best selling products are my Mini Babies, Bunny Blanky’s, Owls.

I have participated in the Etsy Baby Shower before and this time I am donating Mini Babies( ready-made and custom) to the moms.
I will be offering 10% off all purchases (without shipping cost) until the end of June.  Please write EBSS in the message box at checkout.

Meet Michele from Crochele

I began crocheting as a young child. My grandmother taught me the very
basics so I was making pot holders and such (not very well lol). In 2007 I was pregnant and on bed rest and I was beyond bored. I decided to go to the local craft store and find something, anything, to keep me from going completely batty. As I passed by the yarn section I remembered that I knew how to crochet so I bought a cheap skein of yarn, a crochet hook and a small "How to Crochet" booklet. The feel of it came back to me fairly quickly but I didn't know how to do anything more than chain and turn. I had to idea how to read a pattern either! I jumped online and did some serious research and watched a TON of tutorials on crocheting. I began making blankets, hats and booties for the baby I was so impatiently waiting for. I slowly got better and began making items for family and friends' kids. Eventually my hubby advised me that I couldn't continue buying yarn to give away the things
I was making. SO that's when I decided to open up shop! I love what I do . I love making my customers happy with the lovelies I make :~). I prefer to do custom orders so that people don't feel like they are "settling" on something I have chosen the colors and styles for.

My best selling items are definitely my Baby Gladiator Sandals in summer and in winter I'd say it's my Newsboy caps and Bus Stop Booties.

This is my first time participating in the Etsy Baby Shower and I'm loving it! All of the mommies are so sweet and I'm thrilled to be making them something for their babies.

I am donating to eight mommies so I haven't decided on all of the items yet. I will be giving them mostly winter items since most are due at the end of summer. I want them to be able to use them for a little while. Most likely Bus Stop Booties and Newsboy Caps.

In honor of the Etsy Baby Shower I will be offering 10% off and FREE shipping on any order placed through August using the code "Etsy Baby Shower" in the Message to Seller section at checkout. This includes any item in my shop!

Meet Jill from Peanut Feet

My name is Jill, I am a "retired" interior designer that has taken Mommyhood on as a full time position! I am a proud Texan (only left for 3 years while my husband was in law school). I have two curious and wonderful kids(a 5 year old boy and a 1 year old girl), a crazy westie and a hard working husband.
I started designing socks just after Miss Peanut was born. She had tiny "peanut feet" that just screamed for cute socks. However nothing but the plain itty bitty newborn socks would work. I got out my craft box and some beads from my son's art desk and went to work and peanut feet grew from there…
My best-selling items are definitely my hair clips!  This is my second Etsy Baby Shower.  I am sending the mommies some hair clips in different sizes and some socks.
As a bonus to readers of the Etsy Baby Shower Blog, I'll am offering 20% off with every purchase during May, June and July. Just mention the Etsy Baby Shower at checkout.
Please take a look at my shop, www.peanutfeet.etsy.com, my blog, www.peanutfeet.blogspot.com, or my facebook fan page, www.facebook.com/peanutfeet

Meet Melody from Oh Baby dotcom

Hello, I'm Melody Tuli from Oh Baby dotcom. I'm a Hoosier gal at heart and Florida transplant. I reside in South Florida with my husband. My background is in computer graphics and design. I enjoy writing poetry, short stories, growing herbs, cooking and my latest passion knitting.
I began my little shop about a year ago from family and friends urging me to place my creations on the market for retail. I put a lot of love, time and care into each piece I create and I love what I'm doing.
My best selling products would have to be my little Tunisian crochet knit jester hats. They have a great waffle weave look and texture.
This is my first time, but I've made other donations to other organizations in the past. I'm donating from my new line of cotton booties.

For the month of May I've been offering free shipping for USA customers.

Meet Christina from Little Sidekick

My name is Christina, and I have three boys, ages 19, 9 and 15 months. I'm a touring musician by profession, so I travel a lot, but when I'm not on the road I'm a stay-at-home mom.
I opened my Etsy shop during my last maternity leave and have really enjoyed getting back to sewing and crocheting, and now I always have something on hand as a gift when a friend has a baby! I've met some truly wonderful people through Etsy, and it's so gratifying when someone lets me know how much they cherish something I've made with my own hands.
My best-selling items are definitely my Crocheted Monkey and Bunny Hats, and I love when my customers share pictures of their little ones wearing them.
This is my second Etsy Baby Shower! As a bonus to readers of the Etsy Baby Shower Blog, I'll be sending a copy of my band's award-winning children's CD with every purchase during May, June and July. Just mention the Etsy Baby Shower at checkout.

Check out my Treasures!

With the addition of Treasury East, getting a treasury is now EASY!  Over the next week or so, we will be curating treasuries to feature the shops who are donating to the Summer 2010 Etsy Baby Shower. We will be listing these treasury links on the blog and would love your support. When you see a treasury link, please check it out and leave a comment. There are so many treasuries that the only way to get seen is to make it HOT, so we need you to click on the links and comment on the treasury!

Other things you can do to help:
  • Tweet (or ReTweet) the links from Twitter! Jessica and Deniz may be tweeting the links, so follow us on Twitter!
  • Curate your own collection!  As long as it includes only shops who donated to the Summer 2010 Etsy Baby Shower, we will include the link here on the blog. So email us your Etsy Baby Shower treasury link. Please be sure that your treasury description includes a link to the blog and that your treasury title begins with "Etsy Baby Shower"
